| when i took my turbos to the local Garrett distributor/repair shop (7 years ago) he told me the turbos Nissan ordered from Garrett for the Z series, the impeller wheel was a bit smaller than the Garrett spec turbo. He showed me a garrett spec core with the impellers along side the OEM and the OEM was a bit smaller. He opened up my housing to accommodate a slightly larger wheel, balanced them and refurbished them... total cost for both turbos was 300 euros. I was at the shop when he did most of the machining and balancing... VERY cool machine for turbo balancing... I've never been able to find anything that supports what he told me or showed me... but either way, he modified my OEM turbos... if someone could shed some light on this it'll kill a nagging i've had for the past 7 years... ;)
